The Haunted Toaster AKA Amazing Journalism

Let’s have a flashback: the year is 1984, toast is a popular breakfast item, and people are apparently still freaked out by the movie The Exorcist. How does that all connect? Glad you asked!

Way back in May of 1984 The Today Show was looking to fill some airtime, so they did an interview with a woman who claimed her toaster was possessed. And how can you argue with her when her toast looked like this:

There is absolutely no scientific way to fake that. This story must be true.
