Catcher Joe Mauer No-Looks & Backhands A Bouncing Baseball

Joe Mauer of the Twins has long ago made a name for himself as one of the best catchers of this generation. Plus he’s a great athlete overall as he’s a former two-sport star who was one of the nations top high school football recruits, as well as a first round MLB pick.

Even if catchers are great athletes though, they still don’t get a lot of SportsCenter coverage unless they have a big hit, there is a collision at the plate, or take a foul ball in an uncomfortable place. Here is Mauer bucking that trend and showing off his hand-eye coordination. While it didn’t play into the outcome of the game, it was still a pretty amazing catch.
