Countdown To Wrestlemania Best Celebrity Matches

Countdown To Wrestlemania Best Celebrity Matches

By Ray Abel Sports

WrestleMania is coming up on April 1, 2012. It will be the 29th year of the event, and over the course of it there have been some memorable and not so memorable moments of celebrity involvement (cough…Snookie…cough…Drew Carey). Here’s a list of the Top 3 Stray Monkey, Approved celebrities at WrestleMania. Let’s take a look:

#3 - Mike Tyson

Mike only gets the third place spot because he didn’t do much wrestling. Mike was fresh out of jail and ready to do some fighting at WrestleMania XIV. He didn’t get too involved in the match, but afterwards he got a pretty good shot in on Shawn Michaels.

#2 - Donald Trump Shaves Vince McMahon’s Head

Donald Trump was at WrestleMania 23 after “buying” the WWE from Vince McMahon for all of a week or two. After the “sale” Trump and Vince McMahon came up with an idea for a match at WrestleMania: they each had to choose a wrestler to wrestle for them and the loser would have his head shaved completely bald. The match was called the “Battle of the Billionaires”. Here’s a look at the match. Afterwards, Austin did a Stone Cold Stunner on Trump.

#1 - Mr. T vs. Rowdy Roddy Piper

This one gets the nod because even though it wasn’t the best boxing match ever, Mr. T was at WrestleMania for the second year in a row. He had both a tag-team match at WrestleMania 1 and this match at WrestleMania 2. Way to be consistent, Mr. T. Roddy Piper had become the top heel (bad guy) in the WWF before the first WrestleMania. He joined Paul Orndorff and Cowboy Bob Orton to fight with Hulk Hogan and Mr. T. which Hogan and T won at the first event. Piper and Mr. T continued their feud after their real-life hatred for each other became known. Piper and others didn’t like Mr. T because he was an actor and wasn’t a skilled wrestler.  After a run-in by Piper in one of his boxing matches (yes, WWE did some boxing) Mr. T demanded revenge, and this is what happened.
