To shake things up this month, all of May's entries were put into a hat and selected at random.

Mr. May is awarded to Brian Damaged of the sunshine state! Brian is a great big bearded ball of manliness! He loves spending time in the great outdoors doing activities like hiking, camping and fishing. Mr. May enjoys all genres of music, good beer and great tattoos. Despite what many think, he is NOT a tattoo artist! For the past 12 years, Brian has spent his working days as a lineman/technician for the local telephone company. He also has a 20 year old daughter.

Name: Brian Damaged

Age: 38 years old.

How long have you been growing your beard?: My beard was born on the 4th of July, 2011. Coming up on 1 year.

Why are you growing your beard?: To hide my double chin. Hahha! Just kidding(maybe not). Anyways, the real reason is I just love having a beard. In a way it represents freedom to me. Freedom to choose the way I want to look, regardless of others opinions.

Have you won or placed in any competitions?: As of now, I have only entered in one competition and that was Philly last March. I did not place(there were some truly amazing competitors there). The local South Florida competitions I'm involved with offer me no chance to compete as I'm usually hosting and/or MC'ing.

How did you find out about the bearding community?: I started my first facial hair club in 2001 but it was only focused on goatees. The world of competitive bearding was brought to my attention when I caught an episode of Whisker Wars on IFC last year.

Do you belong to any beard club?: I founded and am actively involved with a South Florida group called B.O.M.B (Brotherhood of Mustaches & Beards) est. Aug. 2011.

Is shaving anywhere in your future(I hope not!)?: Aside from the occasional neck shave and high up on the cheek bones, NO!!

What is the best compliment your beard has received?: There is a huge list of "stereotypical" comments that all dudes with beards get on a daily basis. I consider them all compliments. I kinda like when they call me wizard, or when a girl asks if she can touch it. However, the biggest compliment was being chosen for Mr. May!

Are there any competitions that we can find you at in the near future?: I will be attending the HCBMS 3rd Annual South Eastern Beard and Mustache Competition in Charleston, SC this memorial day weekend. I'm gonna try and swing the BeardCon in Ohio this October (not sure) and I will definitely be in Vegas for the Nationals in November.
