Beard Of The Month - May 2013 - Josh Black
Meet Mr. May! This is Josh Black, a resident of Glen Allen, Virginia and a proud member of the RVA Beard League. He lives with his wife and their two dogs. Josh has been in the financial world for a few years, but recently he and his beard switched over to Mortgage Loan Processor. Josh and his wife also own a photography business in which they specialize in events and weddings. Keep reading to learn more about Josh and his beard!

Age: 28
How long have you been growing your beard?: I've been growing my beard for about 10 months.
Why are you growing your beard?: I've had some sort of facial hair for the past decade, but decided to let it grow.
Have you won or placed in any competitions?: So far I have been to 6 competitions where I have won 4 and placed in 1.
How did you find out about the bearding community?: I started watching Whisker Wars, but the RVA Beard League President Chad Roberts invited me out to hang out at a W.W. Screening at Mekong Restaurant. I have only been going to competitions for about 4 months now.
Do you belong to any beard club?: The RVA Beard League.
Is shaving anywhere in your future(I hope not!)?: Hell no!
What is the best compliment your beard has received?: Anything that is not Duck Dynasty or ZZ Top related.
What have you gained from the bearding community?: A great community. Acceptance and encouragement in growing. Some great, and sometimes hazy, memories.
Are there any competitions that we can find you at in the near future?: Possibly Holy City, Nationals? Who knows. Depends where the RVA caravan goes next!
