The White House To Build A Death Star

I love democracy, it’s not perfect but it is ours. And just remember, when you think your voice isn’t being heard there are the White House petitions. Through the White House’s “We the People” site, anyone that can get 25,000 signatures on a petition will have that petition addressed by the President and Congress.

Well, a petition was recently started and received the allotted signatures. You may be asking why this is Stray Monkey worthy, right? Glad you asked… this petition is to secure funding and begin construction of a fully operational Death Star by 2016. Yes, the Death Star from Disney’s (that’s still weird to say) Star Wars.

“Those who sign here petition the United States government to secure funding and resources, and begin construction on a Death Star by 2016,” reads the petition written by “John D.” of Longmont, Colorado.

“By focusing our defense resources into a space-superiority platform and weapon system such as a Death Star, the government can spur job creation in the fields of construction, engineering, space exploration, and more, and strengthen our national defense.”

Your move Mr. President… your move.
